When an order is written, a request made, or a need identified, the press a button will automatically notify one or more wireless devices. These processes can then be evaluated and reported on to identify improvements over time.
- Lab draw – page the phlebotomist(s) covering the ED
- X-ray – call for a technician to come to the ED for a portable or to take the patient to radiology
- EKG – page the technician on call
- Wheelchair needed – communicate with the front of the department for simple needs
- Admit – when it is determined that the patient needs to be admitted, notify bed control
- Discharge – when a patient is ready to go home, notify the RN to complete discharge instructions and the cashier to reconcile the account
