Emergency Department

Streamlined Workflow When Every Minute Counts

Responder process buttons let you shave precious minutes off many repetitive actions. When an order is written, a request made, or a need identified, the press a button will automatically notify one or more wireless devices. These processes can then be evaluated and reported on to identify improvements over time.
  • Lab draw – page the phlebotomist(s) covering the ED
  • X-ray – call for a technician to come to the ED for a portable or to take the patient to radiology
  • EKG – page the technician on call
  • Wheelchair needed – communicate with the front of the department for simple needs
  • Admit – when it is determined that the patient needs to be admitted, notify bed control
  • Discharge – when a patient is ready to go home, notify the RN to complete discharge instructions and the cashier to reconcile the account
  • Soiled room – improve bay turnover by alerting staff when a bay is dirty

Integrated Communication Saves Lives

When an ambulance or helicopter arrives, you can alleviate stress and speed up response by automating your notification process. When the call comes in, Responder sends a visual and/or audio notification to staff members, teams, and or the entire department. Uniform, instant communication improves the appropriateness and timing of the response. When a code blue is initiated, time is of the essence.  Your code team needs to get to the patient as soon as possible.  With its advanced integrations, Responder can unlock access doors so as not to impede the team's progress.

Safety of staff and patients can also be a concern in a very busy emergency department.  With Responder process buttons, staff can alert security discretely when they feel they feel threatened and want assistance or just another staff member present.
