Laboratory

Integrated Communication Gets Critical Information to the Right Caregiver
One of the most important tasks the lab has is to alert caregivers of patient results that require immediate attention. Responder systems offers the lab two different ways to communicate to the right caregiver:

  • A text message that communicates the room and lab value. The lab technician can send the message to the RN, LPN, or PCT caring for the patient.  This eliminates calling the unit, having them have to identify the caregiver, getting her or him to the phone, and calling back if the caregiver is busy. The caregiver's wireless phone or pager will store the message, which can then be read at the next available opportunity.
  • A direct call to the caregiver's wireless device. Responder's staff directory displays the caregiver's wireless device number or extension so the lab can call that staff member directly with important private information.

Display Alarms Specific to Your Department
Your blood bank and tissue freezer may have their own alarms. If security is breached, Responder can alert staff via their wireless devices and/or display the alarm on a marquee within the department. This makes notification uniform and efficient.
