Medical professionals need to be able to locate care partners quickly and easily. Responder allows you to set up real-time displays showing location of staff. The same display could also show a list of pending calls, along with their caregiver's wireless extension - visually alerting all staff of activity. Large electronic greaseboards showing patient information can be updated in real-time, thereby creating easy access to accurate information and relieving congestion at the nurse station. With Med-Surg units being one of the busiest, the Responder systems work with the staff to streamline processes. From just a push of a button, automatic notification to staff can be achieved for countless applications.
For example a "New Patient in Room" button tells caregivers to introduce themselves to the patient and complete the admit process. Or a physician can tell the RN that assistance is needed in a particular room. Remote cancel buttons located just inside the patient rooms allow staff to cancel bedside calls without having to move equipment or disturb the patient by reaching above the patient's bed.
Regular reminders can be sent automatically – for example, to remind staff to turn patients or to return medical keys before shift ends. To expedite response times, Responder can set emergency calls (such as bed exit, staff assist, or code blue) to ring all wireless phones on a unit – for the fastest possible patient care. |
