Surgery

Gaining Efficiencies One Bottleneck at a Time
Because the internal operations of any Surgical Department has so many interrelated steps, it is the most vulnerable to inefficiencies.  The Responder® systems can elegantly address many different pieces and parts so as to keep the department moving forward.

Our process buttons help move your patients through the department as effectively as possible.  During your needs assessment, we can help you identify key milestones that could use improvement.  We can put a process button in place to expedite communication between the check in desk, AM admitting, OR, PACU or SSU.

  • Patient has been escorted back to Pre-OP
  • RN is ready for the anesthesiologist to conduct interview
  • Patient is prepped and ready to be taken back to OR
  • Patient is almost done in OR and needs a PACU room
  • Bay or OR is dirty and needs to be cleaned

Read about Provident St. Vincents Hospital in Portland, OR for further details.

Improved Room Turnover
Bed for bed surgery has the highest bed turnover in the facility.  It's the nature of the department.  No where else is cleaning efficiencies more felt than in the Surgical Department.  Our process buttons standardize on processes that can immediately notify staff members of the need directly to their wireless device.

Create a Quiet, Healing Environment
Our process buttons actually eliminate phone calls between the care team, leading to a quieter department.  This adds a level of calmness to a very busy department that is not lost on the patient.  Patient nerves can already be a little frayed and when the surroundings are more calm it will get transferred to the patient.

Display Information Throughout the Department to Aid Communication
By having large monitors displaying the patients in your department and their status, you can better communicate between  yourselves.  You can track the patient's  pre-op status, patient history, consent, pre-op labs, anesthesiologist, pre-op medication and so many other items clearly in the application.
