Volume Controls

Although it is never easy to keep student voice volumes at a desired level, you can easily keep your classroom speakers set to a comfortable level. There are two methods to control the volume of intercom/paging speakers in the classroom.

Wall mount volume controls provide the simple to use volume control ability by providing a user-accessible volume control on the wall. A wall mount volume control gives very quick, effective control for teachers during test sessions or other "quiet" times. Unfortunately, nefarious students may also have the same access to a wall mounted volume control and reduce it to an inaudible level, particularly if they are being summonsed to the front office by an overhead page!

Another method to control the volume of overhead paging and intercom speakers denies students' access to the volume control. Several Rauland speaker models have a front panel accessible volume control that allows school administrators and maintenance personnel to adjust the speaker volume. Not only is the volume control dial hard to find unless you know of it's location, it will typically require the use of a step-stool or ladder and a screwdriver to make adjustments. 	ACC1403		Flush mount, round, white, pre-drilled, zinc-treated 22-gauge steel, ceiling baffle with an 8 Watt, dual cone, volume-controlled,  8", high efficiency speaker. 	ACCWB5VC		Surface mount, square, 22-gauge, cold-rolled steel baffle with a textured, off-white finish. The ACCWB5VC uses a "whizzer" cone for extended high frequency response that delivers excellent tone quality.
